Enchanting
From DRSecrets
The Quest
Xathvier's shop - The quest starts in Throne City. http://elanthipedia.com/wiki/RanikMap35 From the gates to the ferry go s, sw up, n, nw go shop then go arch. Ask Xathvier about enchanting. He will tell you he lost an item to a nearby gang. Go find Fade in the Thugs area all the way at the top (Note, you have to walk to fade. If you use an automapper or script, you will die. You must walk there semi-slowly, at least 1 second per room). Ask fade about husks and he will tell you about the problem he's been having with Angiswaerds. Kill an Angiswaerd and skin it then bring the tooth back to Fade. Give it to him then ask him about item and he will show you what he took. Go back to Xathvier and ask about enchanting again and you'll be able to take the enchanting test.
To pass the test it is beleived you need around the following:
- Magical Devices: 120 ranks
- Power Perception: 120 ranks
- Astrology: 80 ranks
- Perception: 70 ranks
- Mechanical Lore: 70 ranks
The Process:
Must have completed the Enchanting quest before you can do any Enchanting.
To imbue an item you need the Imbue spell, and to cast imbue on said item twice. Be careful what you Imbue. After you Imbue something the item has been changed, it is no longer recognized by the game as the item it once was. If you Imbue a weapon, you'll no longer be able to use it as a weapon, no more parrying, no more attacking..
Sometimes you can 'Imbue' OR 'Scribe'. When you Imbue, the quality of the energy matrix it creates will be mediocre. If you have the skill, Scribing instead of Imbuing will give it a better energy matrix.
When SCRIBEing, the burin must be in your right hand.

- Note: The shard will be constantly and quickly leaking the mana you put into it. You must keep mana in the shard, while filling it with shadows/dazzle, by CHARGEing it. If it runs out of mana, the shard will poof. You can charge, charge, cast. You can charge, cast, cast. It doesn't matter; experiment, and find a way that works for you. Remember, both charging and casting takes mana; try to balance how much you charge it with, and how much you cast shadows/dazzle at, with the amount of mana you have. Having a shadowling around helps. Other people cannot help you charge it or fill it.
