Timesense.
1. Lets you tell about what time of day it is while you are indoors.
2. To aquire this ability, ASK Kssarh about skill (I'm not sure what the requirements are, but they are pretty low. Just check periodically).
Backtrace.
1. Lets you tell who tried to locate someone in the room you are in.
2. To acquire this ability, ASK Kssarh about skill (I'm not sure what the requirements are, but they are pretty low. Just check periodically).
Note: This quest is deadly for two reasons. First, the critters are difficult (see elantipedia). Second, I always fall through the floor in one of the rooms, which results in death. So be prepared to die at least once.
Xathvier's shop - The quest starts in Throne City. http://elanthipedia.org/wiki/RanikMap35 From the gates to the ferry go s, sw up, n, nw go shop then go arch. Ask Xathvier about enchanting. He will tell you he lost an item to a nearby gang. Go find Fade in the Thugs area all the way at the top (Note, you have to walk to fade. If you use an automapper or script, you will die. You must walk there semi-slowly, at least 1 second per room). Ask fade about husks and he will tell you about the problem he's been having with Angiswaerds. Kill an Angiswaerd and skin it then bring the tooth back to Fade. Give it to him then ask him about item and he will show you what he took. Go back to Xathvier and ask about enchanting again and you'll be able to take the enchanting test.
To pass the test it is beleived you need around the following:
Magical Devices: 120 ranks
Power Perception: 120 ranks
Astrology: 80 ranks
Perception: 70 ranks
Mechanical Lore: 70 ranks
Note: Must be 40th circle and have the moongate spell.
1. This quest is dangerous if you do not have a moonmage to gate you into Oshu’hhrsk Manor (step 18).
2. Start the quest in the Imperial Palace Archives. http://elanthipedia.org/wiki/RanikMap35.
3. Ask the researcher the list of questions below. He wanders around in the palace.
4. Ask the researcher about research.
5. Ask researcher about goldcap.
6. Ask researcher about astral travel.
7. Ask researcher about research.
8. Ask researcher about astral plane.
9. Ask researcher about space.
10. Ask researcher about mana.
11. Ask researcher about microcosm.
12. ask researcher about the ways.
13. ask researcher about naming ritual.
14. ask researcher about quest.
15. Ask researcher about cosmology.
16. Ask researcher about research.
17. He will give you a ring that is an Astral Guide.
18. Travel to Oshu’hhrsk Manor. The Asharshpar'i shard is located here as well. http://elanthipedia.org/wiki/RanikMap63
19. If you can get a MM who knows the ways to take you there, otherwise you’ll have to have a S’kra dance in front of the door for it to open.
20. Script to travel to the shard. Note, you still need an skra to dance. http://www.drsecrets.com/index.php?topic=557.0
21. Raise the ring and you’ll be transported into the ways.
22. Wait for the ring to tell you which direction to go then move.
23. You are looking for a white door. Go door.
24. You’ll be in a room with a pool, a dial and a lever. You’ll need to manipulate these to find a soft grey sphere. Push or pull the lever to widen or narrow the focus. Turn the dial to control what object it’s focused on. After adjusting the lever or the dial, you must look pool in order to see what you're looking at. Once you find the sphere, tap the dial until you’re clearly focused with crystal clarity. (My strategy in finding the grey sphere was 1) Look pool, 2) pull lever, 3) look pool, 4) turn dial left, 5) look pool. Repeat steps 4 and 5. If you can't turn the dial any more, pull the lever and repeat. If you think you can no longer pull the lever, then push the lever and repeat. You will have to do this a lot. When you get the soft grey sphere looks fuzzy, try tapping the dial instead of turning it.
25. Study the pool until you get the messaging that you’ve learned the secret of astral travel.
26. Go door.
27. Go whichever direction you can and you’ll be attacked, there’s nothing you can do about this and you won’t be hurt.
28. Raise your ring again and follow the directions back to Asharshpar’i
1. Requirements: Distant Gaze Spell, 40th circle, open spell slot, and this quest, which must be done during the day. (Note if the spell doesn't work after you get the spell, you may have to take down or put up a familiar window on your front end, depending on what front end you use).
2. Ask kssarh about shadewatch mirror spell
Kssarh says, "The knowledge of the Shadewatch Mirror spell has been limited to the Goldcaps, privileged members of the Y'Shai, and the Council since its inception. And you don't look like a Goldcap or a Y'Shai! In fact, you're a runt, so you may as well forget learning THAT spell."
3. Go to Throne City. Ranik Map 35. http://elanthipedia.org/wiki/RanikMap35
Easiest way to get there is via the Turtle inside the College in Theren. The Turtle is in the same room as the Tear of Grazhir. The Turtle is located on Ranik Map 42. http://elanthipedia.org/wiki/RanikMap42 Turn the turtle until it is set to a moon that is currently up. Then, FOCUS turtle and the moongate will open to Throne City
Second way to go is to use a travel script. I personally use this travel script and type .mainland throne. http://www.drsecrets.com/index.php?topic=563.0
4. From Turtle in Throne City, go South then Out.
5. Run around town until you find the "Young Scribe." He is usually somewhere between the Turtle and the Spell Research Building.
6. ASK scribe about shadewatch mirror spell
A young scribe leans toward you and says, "I help research spells for the Goldcaps, but my mentor is far too harsh. You could ask her, but I doubt she'll teach you anything at all. Do me a favor and take these notes to the research facility, and I might tell you how to get on her good side." He shoves a dog-earred note into your hand and winks.
7. Head to the Spell Research Building (from town gate s, sw, sw, sw, w, w, nw, go edifice)
8. Give your newly acquired notes to the Researcher
>give note to researcher
The elderly researcher looks up from his desk and squints though his spectacles. He cheerfully grins as he accepts your dog-earred note. "Hrm, yes," he says, "I was... err... expecting this. Please... um... tell that young scribe... um... thanks."
9. Go back to the scribe and ASK him about shadewatch mirror spell again
>ask scribe about shadewatch mirror spell
A young scribe leans toward you and says,"Ah, good deal! That's one less trip *I* have to take. Now, listen, since I'll only tell you this once. To get on my mentor's good side, all you have to do is bring her a flower. She's a softie at heart."
10. Go to the Healerie to pick a flower. Any flower will not work. The Healerie is one room NW of the Spell Research Building (from town gate s, sw, sw, sw, w, w, nw, nw, climb Trellis)
11. Once you climb the Trellis, move nw, sw. You will now be at the Garden Rooftop.
[Garden Rooftop, Medical Pavilion]
Sheltering a bed of roses the colors of the moons is a low railing resting atop elegantly beveled banisters. Tiles of green marble alternate with patches of springy heather and gildleaf shrubs, creating a verdant frame that compliments the blue and green of the serpents rising from within a marble fountain carved in bas-relief. Gazing toward a cobalt blue telescope from its perch in the water is a wooden duck, its wings partially extended as though for balance.
Obvious paths: northeast.
12. Next, Pick a Rose from the rose bed
>get rose
You pick a delicate red rose.
13. Head to the scribes Mentor. From where you are move ne, se, climb trellis, se, se, e, e, ne, ne, n, go door.
14. Give the Rose to the Mage (she is very grumpy)
>give mage
Snarling, the Elothean mage glares at you, then stops as she sees the red rose. "Oh," she mutters as she blushes slightly. Her burning scowl slowly melts away as she says, "Maybe you're not all bad after all." She casually accepts your rose, careful to not let anyone else see, and adds, "Well... since my scribe is being lax, if you go to the researcher's and retrieve some notes for me, I might let you in on a secret."
15. Head back to the Spell Research Building (out, s, sw, sw, w, w, nw, go Edifice)
16. Get the notes from the researcher
>ask research for note
The elderly researcher squints and looks confused as he searches the area. "Where... umm... oh. Yes. Yes, here it is!" he exclaims as he rummages through a stack of papers. He hands a dog-earred document to you and says, "Catalogued and ready to um... go."
17. Take the Notes back to the Mage (Out, se, e, e, ne, ne, n, go door)
18. Give the Notes to the Mage
>give mage
The Elothean mage gives you a wary look before accepting the dog-earred document. She then whispers, "You're slightly more reliable than my scribe. Well then, I know I promised to let you in on a secret, but I can't find my notes. Without those, I can't tell you anything!"
19. Find the Scribe once again! He is probably close to where you found him the last time.
20. ASK Scribe about the notes
>ask scribe about notes
The young scribe chuckles and says, "Uh, yeah. Knew she'd forget. Tell my mentor they're on the top shelf, near the leucro jaw."
21. Head back to the Mage.
22. Ask mage about shelf
>ask mage about shelf
A snobby Elothean mage frowns and mutters something as she searches the shelves. After a moment, she turns to you and says, "Ah, I found them. Right next to the leucro jaw on the shelf, just as you said." She takes a moment to browse through the papers. Finally, she turns to you and explains some very interesting theory regarding the Shadewatch Mirror spell. "Now, you're not a Goldcap so I'm not going to teach you the formula -- without that, the information I just gave you is useless. But doesn't it look like a marvelous spell?"
23. Rub back to the researcher and asked him about the formula
>ask researc about formula
The elderly researcher leans back and says, "Um... Hmm. How did you... umm... find out about that? I'm not telling anything without... umm... a password."
24. Go back to the Mage.
25. Ask mage about password.
>ask mage about password
A snobby Elothean mage mutters a soft curse and says, "No way! Only the Goldcaps and some Y'Shai can get that info. It's been scribed in a safe place, so don't go snooping."
The keyword here is "SCRIBED"
26. Go back to the scribe and ask him about the password.
>ask scribe about password
The scribe looks annoyed and says, "I knew she'd forget again! Luckily, I have it here. The password is..." He tells you, and you repeat it a few times to memorize it.
27. Head back to the Spell Research Building and ask the researcher about the formula.
>ask researc about formula
The elderly researcher leans back and says, "Hmm. Well, umm... You seem too young to be ummm... training to be... ummm... a Goldcap, but it must be so if you have the ummm... password. This is the formula for the... hmmm... Shadewatch Mirror spell." The researcher goes over the formula with you until you memorize it. "Now someone else will have to... umm... show you how to use it."
28. Go back to the Mage and ASK her about Shadewatch Mirror Spell
>ask mage about shadewatch mirror spell
>
A snobby Elothean mage throws her hands in the air, and looks terribly annoyed with you. After glaring at you a moment, she finally says, "Fine! Don't tell anyone that the password got out, and I'll teach you how to cast the Shadewatch Mirror spell. Just ask me about spells again within thirty seconds to confirm our deal."
29. Make sure you ask the mage about the shadewatch mirror spell again.
>ask mage about shadewatch mirror spell
A snobby Elothean mage snorts and takes you aside. With little pomp or circumstance, she trains you carefully in the casting of Shadewatch Mirror, replacing the notes and info you had on Distant Gaze. After you've commited the spell to memory, she says, "Casting it on a target will create the the mirror, then just peer or gaze into it to watch them. Break the mirror when you want to end it early, or rub it so that only you can look through. Now get out of here, and don't let me find out you're blabbing the password."
30. You have learned the Shadewatch Mirror spell. Congrats!
31. And that's the end of that joyous ball of fun. Hope you find the information provided useful... You can thank Samton next time ya see him
1. Start Location is in Therenborough (Ranik Map 42). http://elanthipedia.org/wiki/RanikMap42
2. Quest information loacated at http://elanthipedia.org/wiki/Starlight_Sphere_Quest (information duplicated below).
LocationQuest Start Location: Therenborough
Exact Location: from the gate of Theren, n,n,e,e,n,ne,ne,n,ne,go arch,nw,nw,nw,w,s,go alley.
DetailsHere you will find a dais. Upon closer examination...
1. look dais
Inset into the dais are several round shapes, clearly intended to represent a series of moons, and made out of stone, wood, copper, and tile.
2. Now you must push these moons in any order: tile and copper. (The actual command is PUSH TILE MOON, PUSH COPPER MOON.) If you push any other moons before or between these two, you must wait until they reset and then try again. Pushing any other moons after these two has no effect unless the door has closed already.
3. Now go west and through the door, then north, here you will find the prophet.
4. ask prophet about stellar magic
A blind prophet turns his head at an awkward angle and whispers to you, "Ask me of this spell I guard, yes? So be it, you shall learn..." In a monotone, the prophet recites, "Of the rarest of books, Stellar Magic, comes the spell beyond that door. Of the sparkling stars above, comes its power, so be not foolish and cast it during the daylight hours. When the Starlight Sphere forms, point it at your foes, and they shall be obliterated by its cold light."
5. ask prophet about door
A blind prophet nods, chuckling. He whispers to you, "Beyond that portal is the task that awaits."
6. ask prophet about quest
The blind prophet taps the iron door behind him, allowing the slightest smile to curl his lips below his blindfold. He then whispers, "A simple task is the one I ask of you. Navigate the maze beyond this door to find the rune therein -- and that rune is your objective." With a chortle, he adds, "The air within smells quite bad, but you will breathe a sigh of relief when you get to the root of the matter. Nod to me," says he, "and I shall allow you to attempt this task we ask, and perhaps you shall even be rewarded upon its completion."
7. nod prophet
You nod to the blind prophet. "Very well," says the prophet as he opens the iron door. "You may pass... A moment" adds the prophet. "We humbly request that you attempt this simple task the way that the Prophets of G'nar Peth must." Moving with grace, he gestures at you! Sparks tear into your eyes, and you realize you've been blinded! A disorienting series of shoves and pushes immediately follow, and you find yourself alone, lost, and without the benefit of sight...
Now you must SMELL each room and try to find your way to the least smelly room, just follow your nose to the better smelling rooms, for me this tended to go northernly but your results may differ. You will finally reach a room which when smelled you will get, "You sniff the air around you. It seems oddly clear of bad smells." At this point LISTEN and you will hear "You pause a moment to listen, and hear the whistling of a slight breeze, as if it were blowing through the eye of a needle."
8. rub needle
You reach out and rub a glossy moonstone needle and realize that it must be the rune! Now you know where it is.
9. foc needle 100
You focus your magical senses on a glossy moonstone needle.
Exotic lines of Stellar Magic flow through the needle, unlike any other rune you've ever examined.
You sense that the needle contains the Starlight Sphere spell.
You strain, but the needle resists your efforts to channel that much energy into it.
You sense the power in the needle increase due to your adjustment.
Roundtime: 15 seconds.
10. Repeat this a few times. For me it did not need to be completely full but once you have done this a few times you can just FOCUS NEEDLE and if it's ready you will learn the spell. This also does not use up your harness at all.
11. focus needle
You focus your magical senses on a glossy moonstone needle.
Exotic lines of Stellar Magic flow through the needle, unlike any other rune you've ever examined.
You sense that the needle contains the Starlight Sphere spell.
The lines of power in the needle flash with enormous bursts of magical energy.
The pattern is clear and precise, burning in your mind's eye with the brilliance of a sun!
Notions of magical formulae and visions of swirling constellations fill the blackness of your blinded state as you realize that you have memorized the Starlight Sphere spell!
Roundtime: 15 seconds.
Footsteps approach behind at a brisk pace, and you suddenly find hands grasping you! Someone lets out a soft yet sinister chuckle, and you realize you're being led blindly through the dark...
You suddenly see your new location flashing as a vision in your mind...
A voice whispers, "Ah, you have proven yourself worthy of such a prize. Now go forth with your new knowledge..."
Go south of there and pull the lever to open the door to the outside. Congratulations!
1. Start Location is on Tais'gath. (Ranik Map 90d). http://elanthipedia.org/w/index.php/RanikMap90d
2. Quest information located at http://elanthipedia.org/w/index.php/100th_Circle_Moon_Mage_Quest
information replicated below
LocationQuest General Location: Taisgath
The QuestYou will obtain the quest information from your guild leader when you try to advance from 99th to 100th.
1. ask Kssarh about training
Kssarh slams the book he was reading when you spoke to him and glares at you. "Now look. I've watched you start off as a runt in this guild and work your way up through the ranks. Don't get a big head because I could still demolish you with my pinky!" He pauses, pondering you with uncharacteristic calm, then quietly says, "Still, I'm proud of you. It's time you headed to Taisgath to learn what it really means to be a Moon Mage."
Alternately:
1a. Lomtaun smiles and says, "No more promotions for you, young Mozzik." Shocked to silence, you stare in disbelief at Lomtaun as he further explains. "Here on the isle of Sky Magic is where Fate has brought you, and now it is time for a greater experience. Ask me again about this experience, and I shall speak on what is required of you."
1b. Tiv fails to answer you immediately, taking a long moment to look you over with a calm expression. "My student, Traim. Every step we take brings us closer to perfection, a goal some claim is impossible. They do not understand why we strive, why we excel and grow, why we live." He pauses again and adds, "Yet I think you understand, or you would never have reached this point. It is time for you to speak to Lomtaun on Taisgath for what comes next."
1c. Gylwyn smiles faintly at you and says, "I am thrilled to see your dedication to our art, Vansiil, but you need to learn something words alone cannot express to progress beyond this point. Go to the island of Taisgath and search for meaning."
Cherulisa gets a serious look on her face and says, "Ah, Kandalas. The spirits have guided you well. No longer a child but becoming a man. Make the long journey to Taisgath, and there you will find the true nature of what it is to be a Moon Mage. Only after you have proven that you have learned this will I discuss promotions and progress with you again."
1d. Mortom gives you a thoughtful look. He smiles, sighs, and then removes his spectacles to give them a good polishing. As he does so, he says, "I'm pleased with your progress, Killashandrea. It's time you traveled to see Lomtaun on Taisgath. There are things you must know before I will discuss promotions again."
2. (should you feel lucky and ask again...)
ask Kssarh about training
Kssarh snorts and glares at you. "You're really pushing your luck, aren't you? You know where to go, but since you're acting like a worthless guttersnipe runt, I'll spell it out for you: T-A-I-S-G-A-T-H. And if you can't figure it out from THAT, you don't deserve to ever get promoted again."
2a. Cherulisa chuckles, points east and says, "You've already been told what you must do, Mozzik. Head to Taisgath and learn. May the spirits guide you."
Tiv smiles. "You have already been told what you must do. Please, Mozzik, do not fight fate. Travel to Taisgath, and speak to Lomtaun."
2b. Gylwyn looks at you with concern, "You've already been told what you must do, Mozzik. The next step in your education lies on Taisgath, I would do you an injustice to let you advance without learning this."
2c. Mortom says, "Hmm. Mozzik, I do believe you've been told to go to Taisgath. Upon your return I will be more than ecstatic to speak with you."
Travel now to Taisgath and visit Lomtaun near the top of the guild tower located on the island.
2d. ask Lomtaun about training
Lomtaun looks up expectantly as you speak to him. "Fate has led you here." He takes several dice from within his robe and begins to roll them curiously along the mosaic. "Time and time again, the dice come up the same. It is as Fate decrees for all Moon Mages, and thus it is now decreed for you. Upon this isle, you will find an entry to a place few dare to go -- a place where the defining lines between the Plane of Probability and the Plane of Abiding are weakest. It is within that place that you will travel, to learn the deeper meaning of what it is to be a Moon Mage. When the three moons are in the sky, seek this understanding, and return here or to another Guildleader to claim your rightful destiny."
3. Wait until Yavash, Xibar, and Katamba are all risen and present in the sky. Travel into the deepest bowels of the Subterranean Depths, to the spot labeled on the map as "Arch". Beware the Shadow Masters for they roam this submerged deluge. (Map RanikMap90d)
4. You will arrive here..
[Subterranean Depths, Flooded Cavern]
The water here pools like a silent onyx lake, broken only by the sounds of the incessant dripping that reverberate hollowly around the chamber. At the western edge, a series of worn stone steps lead up from the water's surface to a carved archway bearing three colored stones.
Obvious exits: east.
5. exam arch
The carved archway is completely sealed, blocked by tightly mortared chunks of basalt. An interesting sigil is carved right in the center, but time has defaced it and made it illegible.
6. exam stone
The stone is square and inset in a similarly shaped opening in the wall. A glistening coating of deep crimson covers the stone, and a simple sigil of some sort is carved in its front-most side.
7. push stone
You push a crimson stone into the wall. It settles into place with a solid thunk.
Roundtime: 12 seconds.
8. push other stone
You push an azure stone into the wall. It settles into place with a solid thunk.
Roundtime: 12 seconds.
9. push third stone
You push a basalt stone into the wall. It settles into place with a solid thunk.
The stones blocking the carved archway suddenly melt away in a ripple of light and shadow.
Roundtime: 12 seconds.
10. Go now through the arch and you will arrive here..
[Subterranean Abditory, Hall of the Artifact]
Though spared from the flood that has overtaken the tunnels, this room still suffers from the kind of dampness that permeates the surrounding rock. Shelves holding rotting books line the walls, which have been carved smooth and square. Amidst the useless and forgotten artifacts, however, one object is untouched by both time and moisture. Floating amid this wreckage of knowledge, gently spinning in the precise center of this ancient hall, is a spherical metal artifact. You also see a carved archway.
Obvious exits: none.
The spherical metal artifact bears significant meaning.
11. exam artifact
The artifact floats eerily in the air. Its surface is made of an assortment of various metal plates, including bronze and silver. A ring of eight copper nodules encircles the device, but only four are visible at a time from any one side.
One of the copper nodules is pushed in, but still sparks with blue and crimson light.
Three of the copper nodules protrude out of the spherical device, sending sparks of azure, crimson and black flinging through the air.
There are some commands to use in order to interact with this artifact. They are: TOUCHING, PUSHING, PULLING, and FOCUSING. The idea is to turn the artifact by PUSHING or PULLING to the side which still has active nodules. You may only interact with one side at a time. Active, being defined in this case, by if they have been depressed using the TOUCH command. The reason is that the nodules obscure with their light and power the information you need to learn. Do this until you have..
12. touch art
You lay your hand on the artifact.
The depressed nodule on the artifact suddenly stops sparking.
With a rapid series of solid thunks, the copper nodules reorganize as some pop out and some suddenly retract.
The metal artifact begins to hum softly.
Roundtime: 3 seconds.
13. focus art
You focus your magical senses on a spherical metal artifact.
A burning sensation rises up your arms and into your body.
You sense an incredibly powerful and complex matrix within the artifact, which is a beautiful example of Lunar energy.
Formula and theory race through your mind, and you suddenly gain an inkling of the binding forces of the cosmos.
Roundtime: 15 seconds.
I am not sure if a second focus is necessary, by the messaging it appears as it is not but to be safe here is the second focus messaging.
14. focus art
You focus your magical senses on a spherical metal artifact.
A burning sensation rises up your arms and into your body.
You sense an incredibly powerful and complex matrix within the artifact.
The patterns are beautiful, invoking wild concepts of the composition of the cosmos.
You are already familiar with this theory.
Roundtime: 15 seconds.
15. Travel back to Lomtaun.
16. ask Lomtaun about training
Lomtaun notices as you approach him, and before you can say a single word, begins to speak. "I foresaw this moment and I knew when you were sent to find the artifact, what the series of events that would happen thereafter would bring. My predictions were true, as Fate would will, for within your eyes I see that knowledge. Still, tell me of your thoughts and experiences with the artifact beneath this island." Lomtaun listens as you share the tale with him, and you explain the insight you gained from your quest.
The Guildleader leans back, smiling proudly as you finish the story. "Congratulations, for you have learned the connections that form the basis for our magic and our guild. The intricate patterns the stellar bodies form are just like those that drive our spells, our skills, and even our powers of foresight."
He continues, "A Moon Mage's powers are inextricably linked to the four moons."
Lomtaun pauses, to see if you caught the reference. "Yes, *four* moons, young one, for Grazhir was all but destroyed so long ago. With this understanding of how interconnected our guild is with the bodies Celestial, you can now latch onto the small fragments of Grazhir rather than die on a failed Teleport."
"Now," he says, "We shall discuss if you are fated for further advancement."
Alternately:
16a. ask Kssarh about training
Kssarh's frown curls slowly into a grin as you approach him. "Well now, I've heard you're not so worthless as we were all so sure you were, Mozzik!" he exclaims. "Tell me what you have learned." In detail, you explain to Kssarh all the intricasies of the artifact on Taisgath, and the insight you've gained from the quest. When you finish the tale, he stares at you with an uncharacteristic smile for several silent moments.
Kssarh says, "Congratulations, Mozzik. You've learned that the stellar bodies form intricate patterns, just like those that drive our spells, our skills, and even our contact with the Probability Plane! Well done."
Kssarh continues, "A Moon Mage's power is very deeply linked to everything in the sky. We are Celestial Mages, but it is the four moons which aid us the most." He pauses, as you stare puzzled. "That's right. The four moons, for Grazhir was all but destroyed so long ago. With the understanding you have now, you can latch onto these small fragments rather than die like a worthless guttersnipe on a failed Teleport!" Kssarh pauses to roar with laughter. "Now we can talk about your promotion, but don't expect me to get easier on you now!"
16b. ask Cherulisa about training
Cherulisa closes her eyes and calmly smiles as you explain what you learned from the artifact on Taisgath. Quietly, she listens until you are finished, then opens her eyes to gaze upon you. "Surely, the spirits have chosen well, Daerte. Now you understand, don't you? The stellar bodies form intricate patterns, very much like the ones that drive our spells, our skills and our contact with the Plane of Probability. We are bound to the universe, and the universe is bound to us. We are tied to the planets, the stars and the moons."
Cherulisa continues, "Our power fluctuates as these heavenly bodies move, but contrary to belief it does not fade when a moon is no longer visible. Look inside yourself, and you'll see this to be true." She pauses to smile as you ponder this statement. "Teleporting can be fatal if cast without a moonbeam... at least to someone who does not understand the nature of the universe. A true Moon Mage such as yourself can latch onto the small fragments of Grazhir that fell to Elanthia to establish an anchor point in lieu of a moonbeam. Congratulations, Daerte, for you have learned another lesson of the Ways."
16c. ask Tiv about training
Tiv steeples his fingers and looks up at your approach. With a warm smile forming on his lips, he speaks before you get a chance to say a word. "Is it strange for an old man to recognize knowledge in a young Elothean's face and to feel joy at his part in bringing about that knowledge? Some would call this shameful pride, but I am not perfect. No, perfection is a journey which even after years of study is some distance off. Tell me, Atazai, of your journey to Taisgath." Tiv leans back and listens as you tell him about the artifact and the quest.
A moment of silence passes after you have finished the tale, but it is not an awkward nor uneasy one. Finally, Tiv speaks, his face clearly betraying a sense of calm pride. "Congratulations are in order. You have gained one more key and taken one more step along the path to enlightenment, and with this gift learned much. Now you realize how the intricate patterns of the stellar bodies are very similar to those that drive our spells, that power our skills, and that guide our visions. Our powers are linked to the four moons inextricably; they are as much a part of us as our arms or our minds."
Tiv pauses, eyes flashing before saying, "Yes, *four* moons. Grazhir was all but destroyed so long ago. With this comprehension and the understanding of how all these patterns interact, you can now latch onto the small fragments of Grazhir rather than die on a failed Teleport."
"Now," he says, "We shall discuss if you are fated for further advancement."
16d. ask Gylwyn about training
Gylwyn smiles brightly at you, "Congratulations, Vansiil! I knew you could do it! Tell me what you found on Taisgath." She gives you her complete attention as you describe the artifact you found beneath Taisgath. When you complete your tale she says, "Do you understand now why words alone could not encompass this? Just as our art is bound in patterns and systems of order, so are the heavens bound in the same. We are a microcosm of the celestial dance above us, a font of energy and joy that cannot be exhausted."
She continues, "Just as our name implies, we are connected most of all to the waxing and waning passions of the moons -- all four of them." She lets the number sink in for a moment before continuing, "Though Grazhir fell long ago, something of it remains with us. You can use the sympathetic connection you share with Grazhir to latch on to its shards from a distance. With your awareness as your aegis, you never need to fear a misplaced moonbeam with Teleport again."
Gylwyn takes a moment to catch her breath, then says, "Now that you know that fundamental truth, we can continue with the matter at hand."
Gylwyn looks up from a pile of parchment strewn across her desk. Smiling with pride, she says, "Wonderful! Your accomplishments have brought you far."
16e. ask Mortom about training
Mortom gazes into a nearby mirror as you speak to him about what you've learned on Taisgath, almost as if he were not paying attention at all. A moment of uneasy silence passes after you finish. Finally, Mortom looks up at you and allows a smile to curl his lips. "Excellent, Kandalas. I do mean that. Now you see that the stellar bodies form intricate patterns, very much like the ones that drive our spells, our skills and our contact with the Plane of Probability. We are bound to the universe, and the universe is bound to us. We are tied to the planets, the stars and the moons."
Continuing, Mortom says, "A Moon Mage's power is so deeply and intently linked to the movement of the stellar bodies, but it does not fade when a moon sets." He holds a mirror up to your face. "Look inside the source of your own power, Kandalas. You have an understanding now. You can latch onto the small fragments of Grazhir that fell to Elanthia to establish an anchor for your magic -- Teleporting without a moonbeam is no longer fatal, but a boon! Congratulations, for you have learned the most basic lesson of the Ways. You have arrived." Mortom leans back and smiles at you.
Mortom looks up from admiring himself in a nearby mirror. Smiling with pride, he says, "Excellent, excellent. No longer an initiate, but a true seeker of knowledge."
At this point you will be promoted to 100th provided you meet the experience requirements. If you do not, any guildleader after this point may promote you when your requirements are filled. Congratulations!
