I was looking at the what to hunt page as i left the game for 4yrs. and just now returned to find that I cannot hunt many of the things i used to. I added up my armor, weapons, defense, 71 ME, 61 parry,61 leather armor, 60 multi, and 66 evasion for a total of 319 and divided by 5 (the number of defense,offense etc.) and came up with 63. But when i looked at the bottom cap to see what to hunt it said to hunt stuff i know will kill me since they've already done it, no contest. Like lesser slaughs, they killed me in five minutes or less when i tried em. So what can I hunt since that formula you gave doesn't seem to work for me? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I'm not going to edit it myself, but I just went through Piruati Serpents not too long ago and I was still locking my weapons/parry/evasion fairly easily up to 140. Shield was quite a bit higher so I can't speak for the primary set on them but I think we could increase the soft cap to at least 130.
I've gone through and resorted a few entries so that they are all now in order of bottom cap. This makes it a little easier to start
Allusion, sorry it took so long to answer, not sure if you're still looking for an answer or not but the bottom cap is what you can *probably* handle 1 on 1. At those ranks I'd suggest bone wolves in Leth
